David Wayne Whitworth

David Wayne Whitworth Sr went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2019.   He was 53.  David was born February 7,1966 to Marvis Whitworth who preceded him in death in 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Michele, Daughters Heidi(Brittany) of Winston-Salem, Leanna of the home, son David II of teh home.  sweet grandchildren Shawn and Cassy  and his best friend Walt(Donna) Haynes of Winston-Salem. 
No matter where he was.  He always wanted to help people and put a smile on their faces.
David was active in Boy Scouts of America most of his life.  He was a member of Order of the Arrow, He achieved the rank of life scout.  He also achieved Wood Badge Status. Go Owls.  He continued until his health got to bad and still worked every summer for Day Camp.  He was also in Sea Scouts.  He loved being out on the water with them.  
David was also a member of the Winston-Salem Police Explorers Post in the 1980's.
David worked for the WS/FC School system for 20 plus years driving a school bus and then later working in TIMS system.  He started as a teen. 
He also played Santa at Reynolda Manor Shopping Center for several years, where he loved the interaction with the children. He loved to see them smile and make them happy.
David was a member of the Walkertown Civic Club.  He would work the fair booth, Walkertown Turkey Shoot and any other activity he could.  
David was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church on Motor Rd for twenty years.  He had many roles at Crestwood. He had been a youth leader and drove the church vans also.
A celebration of his life will be Wednesday April 24th at Crestwood. Visiting will be at 3pm and a service will be at 4pm.
