Chrystalie Adela Bruso (Gielbeda)

Chrys peacefully left this world to return to our Lord on Saturday 10 December 2022.

She was born 03 March 1949 to Jean (Zalenski) Gielbeda and Benjamin Gielbeda in Brooklyn, NY.

She is predeceased by her parents, her brother Joseph, and her husband Lon Bruso.

Chrys is survived by her sister Barbara McGloin, sister Lori Meade (husband Jerry Meade), daughter Jessica (partner Fidel Matos), and numerous family and friends.

She graduated from Washington Irving High in 1968 and received her certificate in medical billing in 2001. Chrys worked in retail for many years before switching to dietary staff. She retired in 2004 from Northern Dutchess Hospital. Post-retirement, she had a small online soaps business called Southern Bubbles. 

Chrys was very active in her little community at Forsyth Court. Her giving and creative heart blessed so many; from making handmade blankets for new babies, to leading her creative writing group, to touching a stranger's life by a warm hat for the homeless.

Chrys's faith was very important to her and she was a member of United Methodist Church in Macon, NC. Those that knew her best saw that she was a fierce woman who loved easily, and oft was selfless. She will be truly loved and missed and nothing will be the same without her. 

A small memorial service will be held at Huff Funeral Home at 212 Main St, East Bend, NC 27018 Saturday 17 December. Visitation from 1100 to 1230 with memorial service to follow from 1300 to 1400. Her daughter, Rev. Jessica Littlefield officiating. Internment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Macon, NC next to her husband, Lon.
