John Thomason Obituary

John Stephen Thomason, Jr, age 85, passed away on April 14, 2020 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC.

He was the husband of Alice G. Thomason. They shared 61 years of marriage together. Born in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of John S. Thomason & Clara B. Thomason of Charlotte.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was an F-86 pilot in the NC Air National Guard at the end of the Korean War. His working career was spent in Industrial Development where he was employed by several state and county agencies and located numerous lrge industries. He was a former member of the Confederate Air Force as he had a love for vintage aircraft. He will be remembered for his wit, his dry sense of humor, he tenacity and his love of family.

He is survived by his wife Alice G. Thomason; daughter Lisa Jester and husband Robert Jester; son Patrick Thomason and wife Donna Thomason; grandchildren Clark Doman Nelson Jr, Jenna Claire Thomason and Cooper Garrett Thomason; granddaughter Megan K. Jester; and great-grandson Aiden Thomas Jester.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Hospice of Davidson County in Lexington, NC.
