Obituary
Melvin “Eugene” Simmons, 54, of Pinnacle, NC, passed away January 17, 2021, at his residence.
Eugene spent most of his career working at Lowe’s Hardware in Mount Airy, NC. He loved working with his many friends at Lowe’s, helping those in the community, and was of the Christian faith. Eugene also loved the outdoors whether working outside on projects or hunting.
Eugene is survived by his sister Kelly Simmons Jessup (Dwight Lee Jessup); nephew, Daniel Aaron Jessup (Luke Edward Williams); two great nieces, Annabelle Jean Jessup and Zipporah Joan Jessup; and great nephew, Destin Orion Jessup.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Eugene Simmons and Margaret “Jean” Johnson Simmons and nephew, Matthew Eugene Jessup.
Although Eugene will be greatly missed, we take peace knowing that he is now with his Heavenly Father and surrounded by his father, mother, and many loved ones that have since passed.
A private service will be held in Pilot Mountain, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family will be grateful for donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
