Michael "Jason" Cummings

Mr. Michael "Jason" Cummings, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 11th.

Mr. Cummings was born at Forsyth Hospital on September 17, 1978 to Mike & Dianne Cummings.

Jason grew up in Shoals, NC.  He attended the old Shoals Elementary School & East Surry Highschool before transferring to Surry Central Highschool where he graduated in 1997.  He was a multiple time Little League All Star & received all conference honors on his Conference Championship team in 1997.  He also played JV basketball & JV football, until he decided to concentrate on baseball.  Later on in life he enjoyed fishing, playing softball & watching sports.

He was a very popular young man.  He was always known for his big blue eyes & his beautiful smile.  He had a lot of friends & family that he loved very much, & that loved him in return.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his two wonderful children, Kole & Khloe Cummings; his brother, Justin (Farren) Cummings; his grandfather, Rex Fulk; as well as many aunts, uncles & cousins.

Mr. Cummings was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard Cummings,  Ida Mae Moretz Cummings, & Polly Boyles Fulk.

A celebration of life service will be held at Fairview United Methodist Church in Pinnacle on Friday, September 16th at 11:00am.  A family visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service begins.
