Roger Lee Turney age 73 of Shoals, NC passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.
Roger was born on August 23, 1949, at home in Surry County, NC to Neil and Thelma Turney.
He was a carpenter by trade. Some of his favorite hobbies were horseback riding, hunting, and spending time with his family. Especially his girls “Mylee, Laci & Isabella.”
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Andrea Reed, parents: Neil and Thelma Turney and siblings: Fred Turney, JC Turney, Jane Ayers, George Turney, Alice Faye Thomas & Carl Ray Turney.
Left to cherish his memory is a son: Allan (Regina) Turney, two daughters: Yonna (Steve) Blakey, Sonya (Anthony) Ashburn, grandchildren: Nathan Turney, Travis Reed, Colby Ashburn, Andrew Lankford, and Kendra Blakey; great grandchildren: Mylee Turney, Laci Turney, Isabella Reeves, Curtis Reeves, Trent Goad, Logan Goad & Gray Lankford. Special family members: Jennia Turney, Marilyn Turney, Susie Neil & Kim Turney. One sister Maggie (Bobby) Lawson.
A celebration of life will be held at the home of Roger Turney on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2 pm.
