William Stewart Banham, 59, died in his home in Huntersville, NC, April 18, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with Small Cell Lung Cancer. He was born July 16, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert Stewart Banham and Sally Ann Banham (died 2012). He was a 1979 Graduate from Kenston High School, in Bainbridge, Ohio.
After graduation, Bill joined the Air Force and served as a Bomb Navigation Technician on F-4s and B52s from 1981-1987 and was stationed at Homestead AFB and Carswell AFB during those years. In 1986, he met his wife, Kristyn Fleischman Banham and they moved back to his home, Cleveland, Ohio, where they raised two amazing children: Alyssa Nichole Hedrick (husband Bradford Hedrick) and James Everett Banham (fiancee Vanessa Gilbert). He is also survived by his brother, Scott Reynolds Banham (wife Chris Banham).
In Cleveland, Bill worked for Kinetico Engineered Systems as a Technical Salesperson for 10 years and then worked for Burkert Contromatic for another 20 years. In 2015, Bill and Kris moved to Huntersville, North Carolina, so Bill could continue his work for Burkert as their Technical Sales Manager.
Bill loved to fish, make beer, and talk politics. He was funny, even up to his last moments, and was always up for having a good time with friends and family. His wishes were to not have a funeral, or a formal memorial. He wanted just for his friends and family to gather to do what he loved to do- drink and laugh. So, with that in mind, his family and friends will be planning a couple of parties to celebrate his life; one in Huntersville and one in Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to his two favorite charities: American Cancer Society or St. Judes Children's Hospital.
