On April 12 th , 2021 Bill Lunsford of Pfafftown ended his courageous fight against cancer
and departed our world. As a young man, Bill was an accomplished swimmer and diver
earning a spot to compete at the AAU Nationals. At 18 Bill enlisted into the Navy and
was assigned to the USS Richard E. Byrd. Bill was a natural storyteller, oftentimes
sharing memories of his time overseas or his motivation for a home project. Most
notably was Bill’s dedication to the people he loved. Bill was very talented; he could play
any instrument and could turn anything into art. He worked for 30 years Niblock and 10
years at B&G Foods before retiring. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death
by his sister, Rebecca Forrest; sister, Vicki Lunsford; and brother, Bobby Anderson. Bill
is survived by his wife of 19 years, Debbie Lunsford; sister, Linda Robinson; brother,
Charles “Buster” Lunsford; special cousin, Carol Sizemore and Sam Lunsford; 3 step-
children Emily Mendenhall, Michael Seamon, and Joseph Plitt; 3 grandchildren, Lucas,
Evan, and Zoey; nieces and nephews; and countless friends and loved ones.
An outdoor celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 2 nd at Two Feather
Trading in King, NC.
Bill, you will never be forgotten, and your song will live in us forever.
